Looks like the various and sundry bases are at a loss for reasons to vote for any party in the upcoming elections. There are lots of reasons to vote against people, however.

I am waiting for my advance ballot to arrive and am strongly considering voting for Libertarian candidates, against a string of statist/big government intrusions into my life and pocketbook, and (mostly) against the threat of Democrat tax increases, racism (yes James Webb did call Arab people “towel-heads” and Steny Hoyer did say that Michael Steele was a “token” and that he was “slavishly” devoted to the Republican Party), possible (likely?) involvement in leaking sensitive information, and their cut and run policy for Iraq.

Since both of the main parties appear mired in sexual deviancy and/or attempts to cover it up, the attempts to use the Mark Foley issue against the Republicans are a non-starter (or should be for anyone with any common sense).

Overall this is a depressing election to consider. With neither party being something that I actually want to support, I am forced to choose between the lesser of two evils, or Libertarian candidates that have no real chance of winning. Yippee!
