“The truth is, in order to get things like universal health care and a revamped education system, then someone is going to have to give up a piece of their pie so that someone else can have more.”

Michelle Obama – originally quoted in the April 8th edition of the Charlotte Observer

Ed Morrissey also has a good writeup on Michelle Obama’s backward and regressive view of the world on HotAir.com.

Ms. Obama, by definition, views the world though the eyes of a big government, tax and spend, socialist. To her, there is clearly a need for the government to take over health care, but for that to happen, they will have to take away your (or someone else’s) piece of the pie. In her ideology, there is no room for growth or improvement. There is only a set level of production and well being and government is the rightful means of divvying up that production. Any other means of distribution will result in the “meanness” of this country that she has spoken of before.
