It’s not just Rasmussen saying that Americans are losing faith and interest in Obama and his socialist plans. A new Washington Post-ABC News poll is recognizing the same downward trend in Obama’s approval rating.
A new poll says that Americans, concerned over the future of health care reform and anxious about the growing federal budget deficit, are losing faith in President Barack Obama.
The Washington Post-ABC News survey found that less that half of Americans — 49 percent — say they believe the president will make the right decisions for the country. That’s down from 60 percent at the 100-day mark of the Obama presidency.
The poll published Friday says Obama’s overall approval is 57 percent, 12 points lower than it was at its peak in April. Fifty-three percent disapprove of the way he’s handling the budget deficit and his approval on health care continues to deteriorate.
WaPo discusses it more fully in an article titled, “Faith in Obama Drops As Reform Fears Rise”
Public confidence in President Obama’s leadership has declined sharply over the summer, amid intensifying opposition to health-care reform that threatens to undercut his attempt to enact major changes to the system, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Among all Americans, 49 percent now express confidence that Obama will make the right decisions for the country, down from 60 percent at the 100-day mark in his presidency. Forty-nine percent now say they think he will be able to spearhead significant improvements in the system, down nearly 20 percentage points from before he took office.
As challenges to Obama’s initiatives have mounted over the summer, pessimism in the nation’s direction has risen: Fifty-five percent see things as pretty seriously on the wrong track, up from 48 percent in April.
Essentially, people still think he’s a nice guy, but when it comes to specific issues, they don’t trust his judgment anymore. They like him, but just don’t believe he’s up to the task of running the country.*
What’s key here though is that this admission is coming from none other than ABC News! … the state run media … the same people who worked hand in hand with Obama to prepare an hour-long, pro-socialized health care infomercial a few weeks back. If ABC has to admit Obama is losing ground, you know it has to be bad.
Here’s the latest Rasmussen poll info for you as well.

* The “Obama’s a nice guy, but not up to the task of governing” thought brings to mind Gene Simmon‘s take on things when we were in the midst of the Bush/Kerry election.
Let me put it to you this way, because the masses tend to shut off when you start talking particularly about politics and specifics.
When you go through a really bad neighborhood, you want a rottweiler with you. When you go through a nice neighborhood, you want a nice French poodle. Not a good idea to have a friendly, nice haircut, French poodle when you go through a bad neighborhood.
By the way, rottweilers sometimes bite your kids and stuff like that. But, in time of war, I want a rottweiler.
Obama is showing himself to be more and more like Kerry every day. He’s big on vague plans and ivory tower ideas, he’s a pretty face, and has the flowing, teleprompted speech he can rely on. However, when it comes to real life, he’s just not up to dealing with the difficult issues we’re facing today.
