“It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition.”

–Thomas Jefferson, letter to Peter Carr, 1785

MSNBC edits audio again

Amazing to see MSNBC once again editing and misrepresenting news in a transparent effort to defame and detract from conservative candidates. (Remember the edits to Romney’s sandwich making comment and their equally odious edits to the Zimmerman 911 call? Note that I would be equally concerned if the editing and outright lies were being done in a manner that attacked and defamed liberal/progressive candidates.)

I have heard and read first hand accounts from more than one person who was at this campaign event and they are all saying that the crowd was yelling “Romney, Romney, Romney” and Mr. Romney stopped them and asked them to include Ryan in their chant. If one actually listens to the crowd, you can clearly hear that they are chanting “Romney.” However, that chanting is cut short by MSNBC audio techs. So they have deliberately misrepresented the crowd’s chant as “Ryan, Ryan, Ryan”. That way, when Romney stopped and asked them to chant both names, he appears weak and ineffective – having to remind the crowd who is leading the ticket. Instead Romney was lowering himself and raising up his running mate.

MSNBC apparently couldn’t stand to have Romney appear as a humble or self-effacing candidate, so they chose to smear the conservative in the story by editing the audio and reporting a lie.

Tell me again why anyone watches this channel? They’re not even doing a good job as a paid wing of the Democrat party because their attempts to smear the other side are so transparent that they become almost comical.

Obama’s “personal narrative” crumbling

As we learn more and more about Obama’s “composite” girlfriends, and self-stated place of birth, we begin to see that much of this life before Washington was a fabrication and marketing scheme.

Now, we’re also learning that his much shared story about the death of this mother is also false.

Throughout the 2008 campaign season, and later, in support of his massive overhaul of our medical system, Obama was widely quoted as saying his mother had been the victim of a greedy and vindictive insurance system. He claimed she spent her final days in the hospital, fighting with insurance companies over her medical coverage.

For my mother to die of cancer at the age of 53 and have to spend the last months of her life in the hospital room arguing with insurance companies because they’re saying that this may be a pre-existing condition and they don’t have to pay her treatment, there’s something fundamentally wrong about that.

In reality, we are now learning that there is something fundamentally wrong with a person spreading yet another false narrative about the evils of insurance companies, as a means of obtaining the most powerful political office on the planet.

The fables Obama seems to have told about his alienation, his girlfriends and the rest of his over-intellectualized voyage of self-discovery actually pale in comparison to the whopper he told when running for election in 2008 that his mother died because she had been denied coverage and treatment of her disease. Scott revealed that in fact the expenses relating to her cancer had been paid by her insurance. Though she had a separate and totally unrelated dispute relating to disability coverage, Scott’s research proved that Obama’s statement during the 2008 presidential debate was fiction [...]

It bears repeating that the president knew this account was false because he served as his mother’s attorney in all her dealings with the insurance company.

It is time for Obama’s many, varied, and colorful personal narratives to be brought out into the sunlight. That this man is serial liar and much of his life appears to be little more than marketing spin and fable has become increasingly clear. It’s time that the media did its job and the American people saw through the hype and PR. It’s time to finally vet this man’s career and credentials.

Marketable minority profiles

Victor Davis Hansen considers the failure of the assumable minority identity in a recent post. As I noted in my previous posts on the Obama “Kenyan” bio (here and here), the fault lies wholly at the feet of the people engaging in the fraud. But few, if any, in positions of power have the courage to stand up and say that the king is strutting down the street buck naked.

Hansen quite rightly notes that many in the postmodern, politically correct, and progressive community feel no qualms engaging in fraudulent misrepresentation of their lives and history as a means of bolstering the progressive street cred. However, the problem with their situational ethics is that there is no longer a foundation upon which we can review their performance or abilities.

… we seem to forget that these are not just absent-minded slips, but deliberate frauds. These lies always result in making the author/professor/candidate more, not less, exotic and thus more marketable in today’s PC landscape. So when Obama, the former editor of the Harvard Law Review and current president of the United States, and Warren, a Harvard Law professor, fabricate their identities for career advantage, then who polices the police?

No one would ever seriously and openly advocate that our youth pattern their lives after frauds and liars. However, given the politically correct straightjackets that censor rebuttals to the ‘assumable minority identity,’ no one is free to criticize Warren because to do so would be to attack her imaginary Native-American “heritage.” One can’t criticize Obama’s own 16-year long claim to a Kenyan birth because to do so is to engage in “birtherism” and a racist assault on his – for the purposes of marketing a book – Kenyan heritage.

One dare not question the motives underlying their collective fraud because that implies a patriarchal, modernist, racist, … colonialist, … sexist – did I forget any? – attack on whatever parentage or heritage they have most recently claimed.

Their background is fraudulent and their experience is fraudulent. Therefore, their achievements are primarily based in lies and then bolstered and funded by additional lies and politically correct fear. Their lives are a fraud, but they are celebrated in the progressive world as shining examples of successes that others should mimic.

This is simply nonsensical.

Thanks for the help Mr. Obama

Here’s a visual representation of how much Mr. Obama’s “stimulus” package has helped our economy. Remember folks, Obama warned us that if we didn’t pass the stimulus bill in February, unemployment could explode to as high as 9%. He promised us that, if we passed his stimulus plan, unemployment would peak out at just under 8%. But with his stimulus bill passed, unemployment in Q2 2009 has raced past his worst case scenario predictions for Q2 2010 and is now sitting at 9.4%. Labor department predictions suggest unemployment will grow to 9.6%. Even worse, in a recent interview, he admitted that it would soon bypass 10%.

Click on the graph for a bigger version

One other thing to consider; Obama and his minions promised us, before the stimulus bill was signed, that the benefits of his stimulus bill would be felt with “weeks or months“. Well, it’s been longer than “weeks or months” and they’re now scrambling to explain away their failure to do anything except make things worse than even their initial worst case scenarios. So, the Obama administration is now saying that they’re going to really ramp up spending over this summer — so watch for all that “stimulating” to really get going later on — and that the his stimulus always really was a “two year plan.” After selling the bill to the American people with the lie that we would see the benefits of the stimulus with “weeks or months,” Gibbs is now claiming that “it’s not all gonna be fixed in 90 or a 100 days.”

Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA): Dems lied to voters about the war

He calls it “stretching the facts.” Any other reasonable person calls it a lie and Rep. Paul Kanjorski openly states that “any good student of government” (read anyone but those dimwit voters) should have seen that Democrats were brazenly lying about their intent to get the country out of the war in Iraq during the last election. Furthermore, he openly states that lying to the voters was a key aspect of their strategy to retake the Congress.

Listen to him yourself – you’ll hear Rep. Kanjorski tell the people in the room,

“I’ll tell you my impression. We really in this last election, when I say we…the Democrats, I think pushed it as far as we can to the end of the fleet, didn’t say it, but we implied it. That we … if we won the Congressional elections, we could stop the war. Now anybody who was a good student of Government would know that wasn’t true. But you know, the temptation to want to win back the Congress, we sort of stretched the facts…and people ate it up.”

It never was about the war for the Democrats and Rep. Kanjorski’s words prove that. They wanted power, nothing more. And if they had to play at supporting the troops and stopping the war to get that power, oh well. You voters should have known better. If you were “good students of government,” you would have known they were lying. But you weren’t — you were too busy “eating up” every one of the Dem’s lines. So, it seems that the joke’s on you.

To those who voted Democrat in the last election and who believed that your vote was going to do something to stop the war in Iraq, you need to give Congressman Kanjorski a call and let him know that you don’t appreciate his poking fun at your intelligence, or his gaming of the electoral system.

They used you as a dupe and Kanjorski is bragging about just how dense you people really are.

Thinking back on all those snipers

You know, I was sitting here earlier today and reminiscing about all the good times that me and my buddies had in ‘Nam.

Of course you understand that I was under sniper fire, pretty much the whole time I was there. I was constantly having to dodge and weave and go deep under cover to make sure Charlie didn’t take me down. It was a hair raising experience. But even more than staying away from all that sniper fire, I remember the friends that I made. Those guys were like brothers and nothing can ever take away the time we spent together … under sniper fire, sitting on our bullet proof vests, and taking evasive maneuvers (Update: I forgot to add that we also baby sat the young children of migrant workers so their older siblings could work in the fields).

My kid and Sinbad the comedian were there too, you could ask them.

What? … The Viet Nam war ended in 1975 and I was only 5 years old then … oh … sorry, you know, I give lots of contemporaneous accounts of things that happened in my life. It’s just a minor blip. I say a lot of things — millions of words a day — so if I misspoke, that was just a misstatement,. Nothing to see here; move along to the next story.

Just look at ol’ Hillary run, she has some serious moves on her and that kid in the purple jacket was carrying concealed; you can see the bulge. And I’m pretty sure that the envelope that kid handed over had a white powder falling out of it. If Hillary hadn’t grabbed onto her arms and stopped her, that kid would have done a quick draw on her and Chelsea. Or not.

Please Hillary and Obama, both of you keep it up!

This just keeps on getting better and better. The work that you two are doing to sewer your own campaigns and party is stuff that the Republicans couldn’t even begin to touch.

Little white embellishments

If this WaPo article had been written about John McCain or George Bush, it would have described — at length — the “lies” they were telling. Obama and Hillary are just described as embellishing their resumés. (It happens all the time in DC you know.)

Well at least Hillary and Obama will be in good company when they need to bring Gore* in to wrap everything up before the Democratic convention.

* This is the latest buzz that’s going around political circles that some of the Dems are seriously considering bringing Gore in as the presidential candidate, giving the VP position to Obama, and promoting Hillary to the leader in the Senate.

Gore is a master prevaricator and is also considered as being just short of god-like to many of the party faithful, so it would only be right and proper that Obama take his place at the feet of the Goracle — the Democratic Gamaliel. In that position, Obama could learn the ropes, gain experience and then be moved forward after Gore had been given his rightful stint in the White House.

As proof of Gore’s ability to spin a wild tale, you can choose between any number of his more ‘creative’ statements. Here’s two for you to consider. First, we can’t forget his claim to have “taken the initiative in creating the Internet.” (see his quote below) Or, second, his more recent prediction that climate change would bring about 20 foot increases in world sea levels when even the absolute worst case, far-fetched, model findings used for the IPCCs highly-politicized 2007, 4th Assessment Report suggested a 50% chance for a maximum sea level rise of 23 inches over the next century.

“During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country’s economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.”

Ms. Clinton simply can’t tell the truth

This video shows clearly that Hillary refuses to give any of us a straight answer. She waffles on immigration. She backtracks on Iraq. She dissembles on Social Security. Every time she opens her mouth, she seems to contradict what came out a few minutes previously.

To steal an old line from the movies, the woman ‘speaks with forked tongue.’

Just like her husband before her, the only thing she really seems to care about is being the most loved, the most popular, and the most powerful. If she has to look you in the eye and lie to you over and over and over again to get to that point, so be it. In her world power is far more important than honesty.

When dealing with Hillary, it looks like we’ll need to employ the same test that we used with Bill to see if he was lying. Look to see if her lips are moving. If they are, she’s lying.

Thanks to John for pointing toward this in his comment in my last post.
